A MESSAGE FROM THE TRUSTEES
Clean energy means many things to many people: less pollution, a
healthier environment, lower energy costs and less dependence on imported
energy. Clean energy comes in many forms, from more efficient light bulbs and
better designed buildings, to electricity generated from solar or wind power.
Natural areas preservation means protecting places enjoyed by the
young and old alike. It is making Illinois’ unique mix of open prairies,
abundant lakes and rivers, and beautiful forests accessible for generations to
come.
The Foundation's grant program has opened our eyes and
minds to the possibilities and should inspire us all – Illinois
residents, public officials, civic leaders, energy industry and environmental
community partners – to work collectively toward a healthier environment.
